Well, it's been a while since the last post. An exciting fall season for Husky sports has carried over into an equally exciting winter season. The men's basketball team is off to a 6-1 start and showdown with 7-0 George Mason tomorrow at Matthews. The men's hockey team is tops in Hockey East and currently No. 5 in the latest USCHO.com national poll. Both women's hockey and women's basketball are off to solid starts as well. Hockey has already surpassed its win total from last season, while basketball is 3-2 in the CAA, its first winning mark ever in that conference.
With the blog starting back up, its probably a good time to reintroduce myself. My name is Nate Owen, and I'm a senior journalism major and also the sports editor of the Huntington News, the student's newspaper at Northeastern. I've covered the best and worst of Husky sports for much of my time here, and I hope to use my access to help give an inside look at what should be an exciting winter. This blog is actually fullfilling a requirement of my online journalism class, so look for more frequent updates (and maybe even some photos or video). With this being said, my first post will be a tad off topic, as we are required to blog on the Presidential Inauguration for class.
