End of first: 2-1 NU

An NU player (can't make out who) shot the puck at Muse with about 40 seconds left in the period. It took a funny bounce of Muse but didn't go in. The shot came with the fourth line, Costa-Rasey-Donovan on the ice. This line has played very well so far, as they've created several good chances.

First Period Analysis:

NU started a little sluggish. It seemed as if they were nervous, perhaps thinking about the stigma of the Beanpot that hangs over their heads. But a quick power play and then a goal by Ryan Ginand gave them a 1-0 lead.

Ryan Ginand has been playing lights out. It sounds cliche, but the senior really wants a Beanpot title before he's done and it is showing.

BC struck back five minutes later.

Ever since NU took a 2-1 lead at 11:06, they have been dominating in the offensive zone for the most part.

The Husky penalty kill has looked good as well.

Thiessen has come out of the net a few times to chase down the puck, which always gets a little nerve racking for Husky fans.

Overall, a good first period for the Huskies.

First periods stats:

Muse 5/7 saves
Thiessen 6/7 saves
